- Visit cPanel
- Navigate to Domains > Zone Editor
- From there, find the domain you'd like to link to Heartbeat
- Click the + CNAME Record link beside the domain. A new dialog box will appear.
- Fill in the blank fields as follows:In the Name field, type the name of your chosen subdomain (Example: For community.mysite.com, enter community. In the CNAME field, paste in "cfdxy.heartbeat.chat.")
- Click the Add a CNAME Record button at the bottom right-hand corner of the dialog box.
- Once completed, you should get a message from HostGator saying that you've successfully added a new CNAME to your hosting account.
- Re-visit Heartbeat and go to your custom domain settings (Settings > General Settings > Custom Domain) and re-enter your custom domain (something like "community.mysite.com"), and click "Save Changes" at the top of the page to re-trigger the domain connection.
- After this, just wait 15-20 min and your domain should be live!
